The Free Press needs people interested in working with us on any or all of the following:
WRITING:
- Environmental News: Compile environmental news overlooked or underreported by mainstream sources.
- Ethnic News: Compile reporting from local multicultural news sources, write original stories.
- Media News: Outline developments in local media and gather instances of corporate influence on what is covered.
DESIGN:
- Graphics and Art: We are always seeking people who wish to produce high-quality photographs and illustrations to accompany stories.
WEB DEVELOPMENT:
- We need people to work on the web site. The work mostly involves converting the printed version of wfp to HTML. A working knowledge of HTML is needed. familiarity with BBedit, QuarkXpress and the Mac OS is helpful but not necessary.
- Screw ups: Find errors throughout the site i.e. mispelled words, bad grammar, broken links, etc.
BEHIND THE SCENES:
- Circulation: Help spread the word. Refine and expand free circulation in your neighborhood.
- Ad Sales: Expand and maintain ad sales on commission. Totally flexible schedule. Work a few hours a week in your own neighborhood and make some extra cash.
